Lived Experience Partners
The Online NHS Trust is looking for Lived Experience Partners to join our dynamic organisation, supporting some of our condition development prior to our launch to patients in October 2027.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a new digital NHS service to improve patient experience. By sharing your insight with the Online NHS Trust team, we can better shape the design of our clinical pathways and tailor our communications to patients.
Lived Experience Partners are people who bring direct personal experience of using services, living with a condition, caring for someone or navigating relevant health and care pathways. This means the role is open to anyone who can draw on relevant experience to advocate for patients in relation to the conditions we are focusing on. They use this experience to advise, challenge and strengthen decisions about service design, delivery and improvement.
For Online NHS Trust, Lived Experience Partners would act as critical friends across the programme during meetings and alongside our clinical colleagues. They will bring patient insight into practical discussions about how pathways are designed, how patients understand and choose the service, what support they need and where risks or barriers may arise.
Who we are looking for
We are specifically looking for patients who have experienced the following conditions:
- Iron Deficiency Anaemia (IDA)
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
You will have a key role to play in championing engagement and patient voice within the Trust, which includes:
- Having an awareness of, and commitment to, equality and diversity.
- Working creatively and collaboratively and having experience of offering objective challenges.
- Be able to display sound judgement and objectivity.
Due to the nature of this role, you should be confident using digital methods such as MS Teams to contribute.
You can find out more in our Lived Experience Partners information pack (PDF).
Time commitment and payment
You will need to be able to commit 15 hours a month. This will be during the hours of 9-5, Monday – Friday. We expect most of this to be remote working, but there may be occasions where you will need to travel to our offices (London). Travel costs will be covered.
You will be able to claim an involvement fee of £75 per half day (four hours or less) or £150 per day (more than 4 hours) for these roles, in line with NHS England's Working in partnership with people and communities policy.
